The world of investing can be confusing.
It can also be exciting and lucrative. Knowing the basics can go a long way toward building financial security. The Small Business Doctor takes the time to explain investment options in simple, understandable terms so that each client has a clear understanding of the options available.

Pick the right type of investment. We strive to customize an investment plan tailored to your specific means, goals and comfort level with risk.
Choose the right investment advisor. It is very important to pick an investment advisor you trust and can communicate with. We believe that the client's needs are paramount. Our commission is never more important than helping the client make money.
Risk has its rewards. If you want a higher return, you'll have to take on some degree of risk. Bank deposits, which are insured, pay only slightly better than the inflation rate. Bonds are somewhat riskier, so their return is generally higher. Stocks, which are perceived as riskier than bonds, can bring an even higher rate of return.
Your return, after inflation, is what really counts. Historically, inflation has averaged over 3.2% per year. This means you'll need an actual return of at least that amount just to break even.
Don't forget your favorite uncle. When considering investments outside of retirement accounts, make sure you factor in the marginal tax rate when calculaating your rate of return on your investment. If you're uncertain how to do so, please give us a call. We're happy to assist you.
